Transportation
Every summer most of our participants arrive by private mode of transportation. However, there are some options available to campers listed below. SCAMP has been able to expand the options due to the generous grant provided through the Women of Bloomfield.
Transportation Options
Your Child’s District School Bus: Contact YOUR residential school district special education or transportation department to see if your district will be sending a bus to SCAMP this summer. This can change from year-to-year so please be sure to check with your district if you are relying on this service.
SMART BUS: (313) 223-2100 http://www.smartbus.org/Smart/Contact+SMART/
The SMART bus has a special program for individuals with disabilities for a few dollars each way. Please contact them directly if you are considering this option of transportation.
Car Pooling: Many parents choose to car pool their child to and from SCAMP. Contact your child’s teacher to see who else is attending SCAMP from your area and hopefully they will be able to assist you in putting together a car pool.
SCAMP Busing: While this bus option is able to be offered as an option due to the continued generous grant of the Women of Bloomfield there still is a fee for a camper to ride the bus of $125. Registration for the bus will be handled the same as camp registration through Bloomfield Hills the recreation department. The ONLY way to reserve your campers spot on this bus is to register and pay through the recreation department. If you are not registered and fee paid there is NO guarantee of a spot on the buses. Spots fill up quickly so please take that into account when planning for the summer.
PLEASE REMEMBER! Drop off: 9am – Pick up: 2pm
