Waterfront Procedures
GENERAL PROCEDURES FOR WATERFRONT AREA
All campers are given a waterfront orientation the first time they come down. The orientation includes general rules, swim areas, staff & safety procedures.
SAFETY RULES
- No one is allowed on the Waterfront without Supervisor present.
- No campers come to the Waterfront without a staff person.
- No swimming outside the designated areas.
- All campers are only allowed in an area where the water is not over their heads.
- All flotation devices used for campers who can not keep themselves afloat must be coast guard approved.
CAMPER ACCOUNTABILITY
Campers check into the waterfront with their class. Swimmers entering or leaving the waterfront other than at the beginning or end of swim time must wait for a staff member and check out with the head guard at the bottom of the hill. Lifeguards and staff members are counting campers on an ongoing basis while at the waterfront. If the count does not agree then emergency procedures are followed.
*RULES AND/OR PROCEDURES MAY CHANGE BASED ON THE NEEDS OF CAMP OR SAFETY OF CAMPERS AT THE DISCRETION OF WATERFRONT DIRECTOR AND/OR SCAMP DIRECTOR.
